The U.K. designed Bristol Fighter was the most successful two-seat combat aircraft of the First World War, outperforming all others in its class. Initially designed as a reconnaissance machine, the robust design and powerful engine of the Bristol Fighter made it an exceptional fighter aircraft. Its good maneuverability and relatively heavy armament enabled it to excel in dogfighting. The Bristol F.2B at the Canada Aviation and Space Museum was built in 1918, marking a significant milestone in aviation history. After being restored by Historic Aircraft Collection in the U.K. from the early 1980s to 2006, the fighter aircraft flew in several aerial displays in Britain, showcasing its exceptional performance. In 2006, the Museum acquired the Bristol F.2B through an aircraft trade, solidifying its place in Canadian aviation history.
