Brisbane City Town Hall Bronze Lion
sketchfab
The lions that adorn Brisbane's King George Square were inspired by the iconic bronze lions of Trafalgar Square in London. The original bronze lion sculptures and a statue of King George V, which was part of the King George V memorial, were unveiled in 1938 as a tribute to the king from the people of Brisbane. In 2007, the lions and the statue, both modelled after those famous bronze lions of Trafalgar Square, were taken down for renovations to the square. They were reintegrated into the newly renovated King George Square in 2009.
