Brinsea Incubator DHT22 Temperature/Humidity Sensor Adapter

Brinsea Incubator DHT22 Temperature/Humidity Sensor Adapter

thingiverse

We borrowed a Brinsea Octagon-20 incubator to hatch some chicken eggs. We thought it might be a fun educational project to build an environmental monitoring system for it. Part of that involved a DHT-22 temperature and humidity sensor to monitor the internal conditions. This adapter enables you to mount the sensor in the place where the wet bulb thermometer adapter normally mounts. It has the same fixing holes as the original one. We used hot glue to seal around the sensor, but other methods like epoxy resin would also work. If I was going to use it regularly then I would probably use epoxy resin and pot the wires properly. It has been running for over a week now with no problems at all. This adapter was designed in Freecad, and I have included the freecad file so you can modify it to your needs easily.
