Brim Planer
thingiverse
I've been printing numerous panels for a box I'm crafting and grew weary of trimming off unsightly brims. This led me to design a compact planer to efficiently remove brims from prints. It takes some practice to master the use of this tool, just like operating a wood planer. To set up the planer, place it on a sturdy table and insert an X-Acto straight blade. Secure the blade with an M2 x 6mm screw and washer. When planing, make consistent passes at a slight angle, applying gentle pressure. As you pull off as much brim material as possible, you'll find that this method is more effective than scraping with a razor for those final few millimeters. I'm eager to hear from others who may benefit from this design; feedback is welcome and encouraged!
