Briggs & Stratton Valve Cover Gasket Template V-Twin PN: 690971

If one person manages to actually use this tool, I'll be truly amazed. But it worked in a pinch for me. I decided to perform some PMs on my 26hp Briggs & Stratton v-twin (44p777), which had leaking valve covers. I cleaned it up, removed the covers, cleaned off the paper-thin VC gaskets and headed down to the local auto parts store that usually has a ton of B&S parts. They didn't carry those gaskets...and I needed to get it back together to mow the yard that was like a jungle. Didn't really want to wait for Amazon Prime, so I picked up some gasket material at the parts store (quite a bit thicker than the stock B&S gaskets). Found the part number and pics of the gasket online. Downloaded the .jpg of it, converted it to a .svg file on Convertio, then from .svg to .stl on Tinkercad. Rescaled it in Sketchup, printed it out, traced it onto the gasket material & cut out a couple. I applied a thin layer of "Ultra Black" oil-resistant silicone to the VC and applied the gasket, weighted it down for a couple hours, then put another thin layer on the gasket, then lightly snugged it down to the head. (After I cleaned off the mating surface with some brake clean.) Worked perfectly.
