BRIDGE - Rapid one-layer bridging test
thingiverse
BRIDGE is an approximately 8-minute tool for fine-tuning your bridging settings. I firmly believe that the most crucial layer of a bridge is the initial layer because it serves as the foundation upon which everything else is built, so we can save considerable time by printing only the first layer. BRIDGE tests a wide range of unsupported bridging lengths from 5 mm to 50 mm, incrementing in 5 mm increments. Here's a slow-motion video for your viewing pleasure! https://youtu.be/mf-m8x8O7No ### Do you just want to know what settings I use in Simplify3D? - **75% bridging extrusion multiplier** is used so that the sagging plastic takes up less space along the Z axis, as 100% would occupy approximately 0.15 mm of space. - **20% bridging speed multiplier**, resulting in a speed of 15 mm/s from a base speed of 75 mm/s. - **100% fan speed** is applied (every layer following the first runs at 100% because I am utilizing my GUST fan duct). - Although not typically defined, the **bridging angle** must be specified at 90° for this test object. - **Apply bridging settings to perimeters** is set to true.
