This is a 3-D printable bridge designed to elevate your table top racetrack and enhance gameplay with small remote control cars. To build this bridge, you will need three separate 3D printable files in various formats - Sketchup, STL, and Thing. I successfully printed these components using my Makerbot Replicator 2 in PLA material. The required parts include one bridge plate, two bridge pieces, and four optional bridge rails. The bridge plate connects the two bridge pieces together, while the four optional bridge rails are glued onto the sides of the bridge pieces to prevent cars from falling off. Before assembly, you can see a photo of all the separate components laid out, while another photo shows the completed bridge in place. To print these parts, I used standard medium settings on my Replicator 2 - two shells with a layer height of 0.27 mm and 10% infill. The total print time for this project is approximately two hours for the bridge part, 45 minutes for the bridge plate, and five minutes per rail. Printing each rail individually resulted in better success rates.
