A recent find at the Castle of Montemor-o-Novo is likely due to carelessness on the part of the shed's supervisor, who was accompanied by an assistant. The still-drying brick had a lasting impression made upon it by the dog. Despite this, the brick remained in use for building purposes because its discovery took place amidst a scene of great upheaval, where a dwelling was being torn down and remnants of mortar were visible that would have held it to other parts of the architectural structure.
