Back in 2014 I purchased my first 3D printer. The first thing to build was something that was no longer available. LEGO made a cross track 32087 from 1992-1999 and they could only be found on eBay for over $80 each! My goal was not to compete with LEGO rather to build creative tracks that were not available, then later track pieces that I invented. I started building the brick cross track in 2014 and making them available on my website http://www.bastens.com. Later I created new tracks such as the 'end track', '3.16 track', 'buffer track', and the most creative one in my opinion the 'hinge track'. What makes the hinge track so creative is that it prints assembled which in manufacturing is difficult to do. The hinge track is by far my most inventive 3D printer creating. Fast forward 8 years later I no longer make these pieces. It was a fun hobby but today new small business are building brick tracks like Trixbrix. I have moved on to other hobbies so in tribute to my creations I offer them here for you for free. All of these designed are designed for the shrink rate of PLA. I have painstakingly redesigned the latches to provide a consistent fit with OEM tracks. The only supports needed are on the very ends of the track that hang over, no other supports are needed. Even though default slicer settings will work I play with the inner layers for best results. The layer direction can provide better result and adhesion but again this is not necessary. Enjoy and Cheers!
