Brick Brick Stencils

Decorating my home is a task I'm tackling with enthusiasm. There are two effective ways to accomplish this goal. First, paint the entire brick your preferred mortar color. Next, use a BRICK stencil to create the tiny brick pattern on top of that coat. Alternatively, only paint the tiny mortar lines with a MORTAR stencil, and then your small brick pattern will be made up of unpainted original brick. If you make a mistake, simply repaint the brick and try again. Due to my 140x140mm printer build space, each stencil consists of two pieces (L&R) dovetail joined together. There are five different 2-piece stencils available: large, medium, and small BRICK stencils, as well as large and small MORTAR stencils. The original small stencils were designed specifically for my bricks, which measure 195.5mm x 56.5mm. I also have a one-piece mortar stencil. To assemble the stencils, join two dovetail sections together. Then, tape the stencil halves in place with blue painter's tape. Next, use it to protect the surrounding area that you don't want to paint. If using a BRICK stencil, paint the entire brick your desired mortar color. Allow it to dry completely before proceeding. Carefully align the stencil and secure it in place with tape. Then, spray-paint the tiny bricks a nice bricky color. If using a MORTAR stencil, carefully align it and secure it in place with tape. Paint the tiny mortar lines on the unpainted brick. Keep in mind that bricks are irregular surfaces, so you may need to press down on the stencil in some areas while spraying paint to avoid underspray leakage under the stencil edges. Bamboo skewers or your fingers (wearing a latex glove) work well for this purpose. Don't spray too much paint at once; instead, apply two or three light coats with a little drying time between each application to prevent drips and runs. The four bricks on my house's corner were initially painted using method #1. However, the results weren't satisfactory, so I used method #3 followed by method #2. My 3D printing settings are as follows: * Layer height: 0.3mm * Infill density: 100% * Support material: none If you decide to use these stencils on your home, please post a Make about it! These stencils were designed specifically for painting rough, uneven bricks on my house. Due to the nature of my brickwork, some underspray under the stencil edges was unavoidable; I have adjusted the stencils accordingly.
