Brehand - Hand helper tool for people with disabilities
pinshape
Brehand is a FREE, open source project designed to empower individuals with hand disabilities, missing fingers, or conditions like Dupuytren's Contracture to perform essential daily tasks such as brushing teeth, holding forks or spoons, writing on a keyboard, and more. While it's not meant to replace bionic or prosthetic hands, Brehand serves as an assisting tool, enabling 3D designers to create custom tools tailored to patients' specific needs. This project welcomes creativity and imagination from designers eager to help; suggestions and requests are encouraged and will be implemented whenever possible. Brehand is a user-friendly tool that's easy to assemble and operate. It can be printed and secured with a velcro strap around the wrist or any part of the arm, making it ambidextrous and accessible to both hands. Special thanks go to Ms. Jen Griffin and Ms. Brandy Leigh for being inspiring examples in the design process.
