Breastfeeding Tool
thingiverse
Babies nurse eight to twelve times a day, every two to three hours, during their first few weeks of life. This frequency decreases as the baby grows up. Typically, each feeding lasts ten to fifteen minutes per breast. Health organizations advise breastfeeding for six months only. Unfortunately, this task is often associated with women alone and viewed as their exclusive role, requiring significant effort, time, and challenges. Despite the beautiful sense of connection and peace that comes with it, why shouldn't men put themselves in their partner's shoes? A simple solution is using a breast pump to store milk for later feeding. Used with this model I designed for men to experience some breastfeeding challenges firsthand: occasional leaking from the nipple area and discomfort. While not entirely accurate, men can gain a deeper understanding of women's experiences. To create this item, you'll need a 2.6-inch wide nipple, an elastic strap for attachment, and possibly rubber to prevent excessive leaking from the container's screw part. The occasional leaking from the bottom is intentionally designed this way.
