Breadboard Box - customizable / scalable
thingiverse
This is a fully customizable enclosure designed specifically for breadboards. I developed it using FreeCAD and parametrized its dimensions in a spreadsheet, making it incredibly easy to adapt for different board sizes. I created this design with various sensor and controller boxes in mind, which are used extensively in my home automation setup. For example, I've used Node-MCU boards or Node D1-mini on breadboards to measure environmental parameters or control the heating system. To accommodate these applications, I included a customizable USB opening (mini-USB) that can be positioned as needed. This design is highly versatile and can be easily modified to include additional openings for sensors (such as breakout boards or environmental sensors) or other connectors (like RS232 connectors). Two examples of modified designs are shown in the attached images. The parameters for this design are set in the FreeCAD file, specifically on the spreadsheet titled "Parameters". The green circled values represent input parameters that can be easily modified. In contrast, the yellow circled values are calculated auxiliary parameters required for the detailed drawing (do not modify or delete).
