28 Custom Base STLs with Unique Ship Stats for the Brave Sun Starship Miniatures Combat System, all Presupported for Resin Printing. No need for cards or PDFs to keep track of ship stats, they are printed right on the ship's base! Presupported files come in both flavors: .STL and .LYS. Unsupported .STLs are also included. (Also included, a 40mm-tall 3mm-diameter Twist Lock Rod STL and a 30mm Circular Twist Lock Base STL.) Designed as part of the Brave Sun Starship Miniature Kickstarter campaign which launched in December of 2022. They were released one-by-one each day leading up to Christmas along with a starship model to go with each one. Compatible with the Brave Sun Starship Combat System, which is a strategic and fast miniatures wargame to get these bases onto the table, whether with Brave Sun starship models atop them, or your own preferred models. The game is easy-to-learn, meaning you can teach a friend and play the game in a single sitting usually in around 90 minutes. (We recommend getting the entire Brave Sun bundle here on MMF, which includes 28 starship models, these custom bases made for each of those models, a variety of twist lock rods and adaptors, terrain, tokens, maneuver tracks, and more.) Brave Sun bases are also Twist Lock Rod Compatible. The Twist Lock Rod system allows you to keep your rods, bases, and ships separate but easy-to-assemble without the need for magnets or glue. They are also compatible with regular 3mm rods, except for the largest base, which has a 5mm rod hole. The base sizes vary to represent different ship sizes: Fighter Bases - 1.5" Frigate Bases - 2" Cruiser Bases - 2"x3" Dreadnought Base - 2"x4" (These are the ship categories in Brave Sun, but if want to mount a Destroyer or another category of ship not listed, just match the size to whatever base-size you prefer.) The system was originally intended for resin printing, but in testing we've found that it works for FDM as well as resin printing. We recommend printing in at least .2mm layers or thinner, and to rotate models that have the "Twist Lock Rod Hole" to be at about a 45° angle when slicing, with the Twist Lock Rod Hole facing away from the build plate. This ensures proper tolerances are met so the twisting is functional but also moderately tight.
