Metal alloys such as brass possess a reflective property making them more difficult to scan thoroughly. Initially, I had attempted to scan this object straight away without any modifications, but its reflectiveness posed a challenge. The decision was made to lightly dust it with a thin layer of powder beforehand in order to reduce the glare and make the deeper crevices easier to examine closely. At present, no post-production adjustments have been applied as of yet. It's one of my grandfather's possessions that I've managed to hold onto after his passing, making this scanning project even more significant for me. Scanning was conducted utilizing the MakerBot Digitizer Desktop 3D Scanner, allowing me a precise look into its intricate details and complex design.
