Brass Insert - Hakko - Drill Press fitting
thingiverse
Designed for a Hakko FX-8801 T18 size soldering iron, and cheap eBay/Aliexpress drill press with a 42mm diameter fitting. Remove the drill press spring so you have full control of the iron. The default spring is meant to counter balance an electric drill so it's too strong for a soldering iron. Included is the DXF to plasma or laser cut the steel plate which is made from 1.6mm steel. You could do this by hand using the DXF as a template. It needs to be steel because it's put between the threaded Soldering Iron handle and the Tip holder (hot). You will need 2 x M3x30mm screws and 2 x M3 hex nuts to put it togther.
