The MakerBot Digitizer Desktop 3D Scanner captured an item that was initially too shiny, necessitating a coat of watered-down tempera paint and dish soap for proper scanning. Afterwards, it easily washed off with water. The tempera used in the process cost just $2 from A.C. Moore craft store. However, the handle of the item didn't scan correctly due to occlusion issues.
