For Prusa Mendel, non-PLA bushings are required. To achieve this, purchase brass bushings from McMaster-Carr at http://www.mcmaster.com/#6391k163. Alternatively, if you're feeling daring, opt for PTFE tubes (untested but PTFE is incoming) from either http://www.mcmaster.com/#5033k34 or http://www.mcmaster.com/#52335k38. Drill the bushings to 8.2mm for a perfect fit with a 5/16 drill rod, coat them in two-part epoxy, and insert them into their respective holders.
