It appears some board game manufacturers suffer from a severe case of in-box disorganization. While saving a few pennies per unit may seem insignificant, leaving players to navigate through a chaotic mess of bits and pieces is inexcusable. Brandon the Brave is no exception. Fortunately, 3D printing technology comes to the rescue! Unfortunately, it seems I'm the only one who took on this challenge, or at least uploaded a model if they did. So, I invested an inordinate amount of time modeling something myself, far exceeding the value of the game. I proudly present to you, fellow board game enthusiasts, a three-part insert designed for easy storage and retrieval of game pieces, along with a spacer to prevent the other two sections from sliding around in the box. Use or disregard the spacer as per your preference. The triangular tile sections boast deep finger wells that extend below the bottom tile, making it effortless to retrieve all tiles without struggle. The booklet sits snugly on top, preventing tiles from escaping their compartments. These inserts have passed my storage test, which involves packing the box and giving it a good shake while rotating it in multiple directions. Everything remains in place. I've included two versions of these models: - Split versions with left and right pieces for smaller format printers. You'll need to print 5 triangular "splice" pieces (6 if you're like me and prone to dropping one into the abyss that is my printing table). A small amount of 5-minute epoxy will bond the two parts together. Print 2 spacer halves, as they don't require assembly and sit nicely in the box. - Whole versions suitable for larger format printers that can be printed as a single piece. Additionally, I'd like to note that after experimenting with various shape and size combinations for splice pieces, I'm thoroughly satisfied with my recent adoption of triangular shapes. They're easy to print flat, eliminating any obvious shear weaknesses along the radius found in cylindrical splices. The triangular shape also acts as a keyed join, increasing part alignment accuracy.
