The Human Genome Project is a major research effort that has been ongoing since 1990 to sequence and map the entire human genome. The project's goal is to identify all of the genes in the human body and determine their functions. This will allow scientists to understand how genetic variations affect health and disease, which can lead to new treatments and therapies for a wide range of conditions.
