Braking System

The braking system of a car is made up of several key components, all working together to ensure safe and reliable stopping power. At its core, the brake system consists of three main parts: the master cylinder, the wheel cylinders, and the brake pads or shoes. The master cylinder converts non-hydraulic pressure from the brake pedal into hydraulic pressure that pushes fluid through a network of tubes and hoses to the wheel cylinders. Each wheel cylinder is responsible for applying the brakes to one wheel only. When the driver presses the brake pedal, it sends a signal to the wheel cylinders, causing them to push the brake pads or shoes against the rotor or drum, which slows down the wheel. The caliper holds the brake pad in place and allows for easy replacement when needed. The rotor is attached to the hub of the wheel and is what the brake pad presses against to slow down the wheel.
