I learned the hard way that using automotive brake fluid (dot 5.1) in your brakes can crumple brake reservoirs and destroy many plastic things along the way. For Shimano brakes, mineral oil is the only safe choice. My brake fluid reservoir covers disintegrated, so I spent a day creating a new set of 3d printed ones. They should not leak, but I haven't tested them extensively yet, and they might leak just a little bit. I'd love to hear from you and improve them with your feedback. The cad files are a mess because these are a traced photo plus the stl file from thingiverse.com for the seal and screw holes, which is completely freehand for the rest. You can still find them on Onshape if you really want. It seems like the original covers are made out of a plastic material that weakens rapidly when exposed to brake fluid, so their kryptonite is literally the thing they are tasked with containing. There's a rubber thing in between, yes. If you don't like this text, it's pretty easy to get rid of or just ask for a version without one. Hope this helps you ride safely again!
