Brain Slice Incubator v3
thingiverse
This is a slice holder for incubation of fresh brain sections in recirculating aCSF. The central channel is for a bubbler, and has a stop at the bottom to ensure bubbles ascend through the main channel only. It is designed to fit snugly in a 200mL beaker, and to be printed in TPU. You will need a dozen 6x3mm magnets, as strong as you can get, per unit. Print each half, add a pause at the top of the magnet chamber (0.8mm below top of the "Bottom" part) to insert them then resume the print over it. Slap each half across some mesh, cut the edges and center out, and you're set! If you want a more rigid design, you can print the lower and upper 0.8mm in TPU and the rest in PETG, just increase your nozzle temps ~20C (I used 250C) for better layer adhesion at the mixed-material interface. I recommend supergluing the magnets in place, they should stay down unless if you have a brass nozzle but my hardened NozzleX sucked them up my first try.
