Brain Cabinet
myminifactory
A distinctive, brain-inspired cabinet with four drawers, one cleverly concealed within an eyeball design. This unique piece is perfect for a neuroscientist or anyone fascinated by brains. I opted for a two-tone aesthetic featuring wood filament in contrasting dark and light shades. (For more details on the printing process, check out 'Printing Details' below.) This project was sparked by Franc Falco's "Band Saw Box 'laminated'" design. The contours of the brain and its sulci are based on an illustration by artist and medical illustrator Patrick J. Lynch, which is distributed under the Creative Commons Attribution 2.5 License in 2006. I did take some liberties with brain anatomy to create more practical drawer arrangements, particularly between the bottom and middle drawers.
