The Brain's Blueprint , the brain stem and the eyes Brainstem Control Centers deliver the main motor and sensory nerve force to the face and neck via twelve essential cranial nerves. Ten pairs of these vital cranial nerves originate from the brainstem itself, with the diencephalon adding two more pairs for a total of twelve. The brainstem is crucial to our bodily functions as it serves as the primary hub where motor and sensory systems connect the main part of the brain to the rest of the body. This includes the corticospinal tract (motor function), the dorsal column-medial lemniscus pathway (fine touch, vibration sensation, and proprioception), and the spinothalamic tract (pain, temperature, itch, and crude touch). The Human Brain is the central command center of the human nervous system, forming a crucial partnership with the spinal cord to create the central nervous system.
