This is the Braille Thing, an innovative educational tool designed specifically for Low Vision and Blind students. Its purpose is to facilitate learning and produce simple Braille letters through interactive engagement. A clip on board provides space for interchangeable magnets that can be arranged to form any six-character word or less. Beneath a larger cut-out section lies a precise replica of the standard six-cell Braille arrangement, accompanied by printed dots equipped with magnets to replicate the corresponding Braille letter. For new Braille learners, this process can be challenging and even monotonous at times. I created the Braille Thing for a student rapidly losing her vision, who would eventually rely on Braille media as her primary means of communication. Among various Braille learning activities, she consistently requested this one daily. The Braille Thing is best utilized in conjunction with an All In One board from APH.
