Braille Thing?
thingiverse
This is indeed the Braille Thing? An innovative educational system crafted specifically to empower students with Low Vision and Blindness, facilitating their learning and production of simple Braille letters through an interactive approach. A clip on board boasts cut-outs for interchangeable magnets that can seamlessly form any six-character or shorter words. Beneath this larger cut-out lies a precise replica of the six cells used in Braille, accompanied by printed dots with magnets to produce the corresponding letter in Braille. For novice Braille learners, this process can be challenging and occasionally tedious. I designed the Braille Thing for a student rapidly losing her vision, who would eventually become proficient in reading Braille media. Among all Braille learning activities, she consistently requested this one daily. The Braille Thing is used in conjunction with an All-In-One board from APH.
