Create your own customized braille text with a 3D printer using the 'Braille Platform' file. As a sighted individual, this project was an enlightening experience, discovering the complexity of written braille compared to English. This tool can assist sighted persons in teaching braille to visually impaired individuals or simply leaving notes for them. However, do take time to learn about the differences in braille characters, such as the two distinct quotation mark symbols. Note that not every tile has been printed and some may not turn out well on less advanced printers. A high resolution is recommended for clearer bumps, which might require acetone smoothing. Lastly, the tablet needs a latch to secure the tiles in place, currently unavailable in the design.
