Braille Scrabble Tile Generator
thingiverse
This is a Braille Scrabble tile maker, which can create substitutes for missing tiles. The customiser supports two character sets: * Latin * Arabic When printing the tiles, they should be printed upright to guarantee the clearest resolution on the braille bumps. The back of the tile can be customised so that two sets can be distinguished from each other if necessary. The tiles will require some post-processing if they are also to be used by someone who sees. I find a good solution is as follows: Print with 0.15 embossed depth for the text. Spray a clear varnish coat. With an indelible marker pen (0.6mm tip), fill in the letter. Fill in the score with a 0.6mm tip or a 0.4mm tip for the 2,3,4,5,8,0 scores. Vapour smoothing is not recommended, as this 'blurs' the braille dots. Printing slowly with a small nozzle and layer height will ensure that the tiles have the best possible quality.
