Brad's Compatible Carriage v2
thingiverse
TESTING IN PROGRESS, UPDATES ONGOING This left-side carriage is specifically designed for a lot of typical printer configurations. In my case, it's being used to replace the carriage in my Solidoodle 2. This design is tailored for string (fishing line) drive systems. Other than that and the LM8UU bearings (2x), original solidoodle hardware can be utilized. Axis positions, belt/string positions, stepper positions should closely match or be exactly the same as the original solidoodle design. In fact, this carriage holds the x stepper about 10mm farther left, which may interfere with some enclosures out there. This y carriage supports the NEMA 14 x-axis stepper and the 2x smooth rods (centered 40mm apart) that make up the x-axis drive system. The y carriage itself is pulled around by fishing line, attached with M3 bolts just above and to the right of the y axis smooth rod. How I Designed This With Fusion 360
