Bracket to Attach Elide Fireball to 2020 Extrusion Top Bar
thingiverse
At my job every day I remind people to build defences in layers, so I'd be quite hypocritical if I didn't take the same approach to fire safety myself. For that reason, I've decided to install an automatic fire extinguisher on my 3D printer as a last line of defense. The Elide Fire Ball comes with a metal cage where the ball sits, allowing it to be triggered from below. Unfortunately, the cage is designed to attach using M3 bolts to an upright support, and I wanted to attach it to the top bar instead. This bracket attaches to the top 2020 extrusion on my Flsun i3, allowing the device to sit in its ideal position directly over the print bed. I am not a fire safety expert, and have no hands-on experience with this product (other than feeling its weight before designing a bracket). Always follow the product recommendations and use your own judgment when using this bracket.
