By employing 3D printing's unique capabilities, one can create features that conventional manufacturing methods cannot achieve. Most public submissions so far have not utilized these distinctive advantages; hence, I attempted to modify the bracket using one of additive manufacturing's key benefits - internal cavities. Despite appearing similar to the original, the changes are all inside. The internal cavities reduced the volume by nearly 5 cubic inches, a 20% decrease. A section view, as shown in the attached image, displays the internal cavities. The original bracket had a volume of 28.27 cubic inches, while the modified one has 23.03 cubic inches.
