This likely outcrop location lies within the designated area of Bracken Heads, Langleydale Common, southeast of Eggleston, County Durham. The team from NADRAP discovered this potential find during their 2005 surveys, marking it as a new discovery on ERA with the designation 'Brackenheads N01.' The team described the site as follows: 'Solid bedrock offers a base for what could be a cairn; situated among clearly visible cairns, 10 meters, 30 meters, and 50 meters away. Three cups, small in size, are located on the highest point of the block. It is possible that these features may occur naturally.' ERA information can be found at https://archaeologydataservice.ac.uk/era/section/panel/overview.jsf?eraId=2019. The 3D model was generated from five stereo pairs captured by Joe Gibson and Keith Elliott, members of the NADRAP Team 3, in August 2005. The images form part of the full NADRAP archive deposited with Historic England.
