Braced Box Arm

Braced Box Arm

This modular arm segment can be attached together for an extended structure and features a hinge for flexibility. It marks the beginning of a robot arm project. The STL files are available for direct printing, while OpenSCAD files offer easy dimension alterations. New versions have been added to allow taller hinge pivot arms for increased angulation. The OpenSCAD file provides options for open or enclosed formats, with the latter being easier to print but less aesthetic. A Mendel RepRap printer was used, and the main brace box may require post-print cleanup using a Dremel tool with a burr bit. 1/11/14 and 1/18/14 updates include taller hinge pivot arms for increased angulation and a grooved disk added to the axis to prevent cable interference, respectively. The project's STL files are included for direct printing, while OpenSCAD files offer easy-to-use parameters for altering dimensions. A new version allows for even greater angulation in the hinge, providing more flexibility for the robot arm structure.
