The wagons were introduced in 1957 for the iron ore traffic from Glasgow Docks to Ravenscraig Steelworks. In later years they were found more widely for ballast, sand and other mineral workings Details such as brake gear, buffers, ladders and footsteps shall need to be sourced from suitably robust materials.
