BQ Spool Holder For Tevo Tornado
thingiverse
Really straightforward and fast to print, this spool holder supports BQ and standard filament spools. It's designed to fit on a TEVO Tornado Control Box - it should also work with similar-sized control boxes. Some of you may have noticed that the BQ Filament spools have peculiarly small center diameters. I broke another spool holder trying to force the BQ filament spool, which is why I've designed this one. I ended up using a PrintStik stuck down with double-sided tape to hold the BQ filament while I quickly printed this holder. There are two main parts: the side and the straps. You'll need to print: - 2 x Sides - 4 X Straps Each strap has a hole that lets you use a self-tapping screw to secure the parts together. You'll need a tube or pipe to hold the spool on - I used an old copper pipe from a hot water tank cut to the right length. There's a third STL file, which will work if you print two of these and they'll fit on the ends center pipe - at least the copper pipe I use to hold the BQ spool. I added these mainly to conceal the lime scale that had built up within the pipe. That's why the hot water copper pipe was available in the first place, so much lime scale had built up it had to be replaced! It also works with standard-sized filament spools too - by adding the 2 Straps on the underside of the sides, you'll move the centre of the spool tube up sufficiently so that there's enough space for other "normal" spools to spin freely too.
