BQ Prusa i3 Z axis screw support
thingiverse
If your BQ Prusa i3 is like mine, you'll probably see the Z-axis screws shaking loose and hear screeching noises on big Z-axis moves. To stop this from happening, I came up with a little support to keep the Z-axis screw steady by clipping it to the 8mm smooth rod. This little piece fits right into the top supports without taking up any extra space, so you can still print whatever you need. With it in place, your wobble is gone and those screeching sounds disappear too. As always, I'm making my files available for download: .STL, .STEP, and .IGS, so you can modify them to suit your needs. Check out the video of me trying to find a solution and how I made this piece. Don't forget, you'll need two printed versions - one for each Z-axis screw!
