As far as I could see from the photos, both jricardomiguel's and meie1kyl's versions were designed around the unibody hotend. However, my printer runs on the "classic" hot end, which is slightly shorter. It still managed to work somewhat, but the retracted pin was less than 1mm above the nozzle. A single glob of plastic or a sharp corner curling up could easily disrupt the entire print. So I moved the mounting plate about 3mm higher to get it closer to the recommended 8mm between the bottom of the BLTouch case and the nozzle.
