Boy removing a thorn
myminifactory
This poignant sculpture depicts a young boy halting to pluck a thorn from his foot, crafted by the skilled hands of Gustav Eberlein (1847-1926), a renowned German artist whose talents extended far beyond sculpting. As a multifaceted individual, Eberlein was not only an accomplished sculptor but also a gifted painter and writer. His small figurative works and portrait sculptures earned him widespread recognition, while his impressive output includes over 900 creations. Sadly, many of his larger bronze monuments fell victim to the devastating consequences of World War II, being melted down as a result.
