Boxford Lathe Spindle Lock

Boxford Lathe Spindle Lock

thingiverse

Spindle lock plunger for Boxford lathe designed to print as a guide for testing fit and serving as a model for making your own from steel. This part is intended to have a short lifespan due to being printed in plastic. A special thank you goes to Lawrence, a member of the Yahoo Boxford Lathe User Group, for providing dimensions and pictures of his actual spindle lock. I've included two versions: one with chamfers that match those found on the factory plunger, and another without chamfers to facilitate accurate measurements. The STL file does not include the slight concave shape on the face of the plunger where you would apply pressure with your finger. In addition to this plunger, you will need a spring and retaining ring to complete the assembly.
