I got a question from a friend just a few days ago about a broken-down Boxee box he had lying around. He asked if I could somehow make the remote control usable for other projects. Once I finished repairing the electronic components, I thought it would be a great idea to design a case that would house the remote receiver and the WLAN module from the Boxee box. I made sure there was enough room in the case for a 23mm x 34mm USB breakout board as well as a PSU or even a USB hub if needed. The module itself is held securely in place using two 2mm self-tapping screws, while the top of the case is secured with four M3 screws. I designed and printed the case at a resolution of 0.1mm, filling it to 30% density.
