Box with integrated hinge and latch
thingiverse
Small box with integrated hinge and latch, designed specifically for fly fishing flies when lined with foam, yet also serving as an experiment in creating a hinge that can be printed as a single part without supports, pins or extra hardware. One side of the hinge is shaped like a half-sphere, while the other side features a slightly larger half-sphere cutout. The hinges are connected by a 45-degree brace, allowing for printing without additional supports. This design utilizes a rounded-corner box algorithm discovered online. More details can be found at https://danielupshaw.com/openscad-rounded-corners/ Update: Flipped versions of the .stl and .scad files have been added, eliminating the need to flip the design over before printing.
