Box for Heat Bed Power Module
thingiverse
If you're upgrading your FolgerTech FT5 to the FT black heat bed that reportedly draws 19 amps, you may be thinking about using one of the BIQU Heat Bed Power Module Expansion Hot Bed MOS Tube for 3D Printers being sold on Amazon for $10 plus a bit extra. It's designed to handle 25 amps. In reality, mine doesn't even get warm. This little box will contain it and provide some ventilation as it sits atop the control box. I ran the control wire down through the hole in the box and a drilled hole in the top of the cabinet. I also drilled a 1/2" hole in the back and the top of the cabinet to reroute the bed wiring. The box simply adds a touch of style. The top slides on, and the module fits snugly over the four pins. You can secure it by mushrooming the pins, applying a spot of silicone or hot melt glue, or letting it float as I did.
