Box for arduino / ramps on MendelMax
thingiverse
A customizable Arduino/Ramps box is being designed for mounting on MendelMax; still under experimentation. To assemble, insert the base into the 4 clips and position it onto the MendelMax. Secure with M3 screws on the cover. After further observation, measurement, and printing, the box fit only 2 of the Arduino's holes, necessitating remeasurement for a perfect fit. The box is 65mm high (new2.scad) instead of the initial 40mm to provide more space. However, it is slightly too long by about 5mm, which can be resolved by reducing clip width. The top part warped during printing, resulting in cracks; this issue might have been caused by a low-aimed fan. ABS printing without fan is recommended for future prints, and duct tape can cover imperfections. Drilling the top holes with a 4mm drill allows for 4.0x60mm screws, while base plate may need a 3mm drill. The Polulu components should manage heat adequately. Clip system works well to adjust clearance. The base plate can also be mounted on another extrusion, which might be a better location due to cable management.
