Box Fan Feet - Almost Supportless

Box Fan Feet - Almost Supportless

thingiverse

So I need some new feet for my box fans... who doesn't, anyway? Those things break so easily it's downright infuriating. In any case, I looked on Thingiverse and there are several available designs but they all require too much extra support. If I'm going to use additional filament, I want it to be used on the part itself! Not to mention a lot of them complain about how difficult it is to remove those pesky supports. The secret to getting rid of those annoying supports is to print these things on their side and I also chose to move the supported part to one side or the other (right or left). The fan won't care that they're asymmetrical, after all, and you're not paying for tooling or molds here. When these print, they only have a few tiny supports and they're extremely easy to remove. I'm willing to bet that a lot of you who need this will try it without supports and it'll be just fine. I also made the rest of the foot a big slab. With low infill, these still print pretty fast (1 hour or so) and all that plastic is going to an aesthetic fan foot instead of support material. There are right-handed and left-handed versions available but you can simply print two of one or the other if you prefer. I tend to like the symmetry of having them offset both to the outside or whatnot. Just got laid off so donations are extremely welcome. I'm on a mission to fix all this broken stuff in my house, so look for more household repair parts. This thing was made with Tinkercad. Edit it online at https://www.tinkercad.com/things/afZlsb34P23
