Box Clasp
thingiverse
This device is a box fastener. The lock and catch screw onto a wooden box. The catch grabs the lock and when clicked shut will keep a box closed until the lock is lifted. The lock features a textured finger surface and easy to lift opening mechanism. The lock has been designed to cover the mechanism for a discreet and professional looking latch. This device is also designed to be printed in one print with no assembly of the sub-parts required. All moving parts will easily rotate once supports have been removed. Print Settings Printer Brand: Wanhao Printer: Wanhao Duplicator i3 V2 Rafts: No Supports: Yes Infill: 40% Notes: This part is best printed as shown in the .STL and .F3D files. It has been oriented correctly in the model for optimal printing. You will need to add supports for printing but try to use the least amount of support necessary. I have included a support file for Simplify3d that will give you successful results. How I Designed This My wife requested a blanket box to place under the bed. So, I designed the box and then needed some hinges and a lock/clasp. I designed this clasp based on a dog clamp in my workshop, to understand the mechanism. There are other similar clasps but they are all open. I thought it would be nice to have a closed clasp that is neat and tidy.
