My sister wanted a photo booth for her wedding, but she didn't just want the DSLR on a tripod in a field. She asked me to build a shroud based on the classic box Brownie camera. I had one lying around, so I took a boatload of measurements and scaled it up. The main body of the box is made from plywood with MDF front and back for better paint adhesion. All the buttons and handles that make the thing look real were just added for aesthetic purposes. Originally, I was going to cut them out in wood, but 3D printing seemed like the better route - albeit slightly slower. I modeled all the pieces and have made them available if someone wants to try and build their own. I'll post vector artwork of the front and more details on the carpentry when I get a chance. **Print Settings:** Printer Brand: MakerBot Printer: MakerBot Replicator Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: 0.3mm Infill: 10% Notes: I found some layer separation on the large dial, but filling it in with superglue and activator fixed the issue. I chose 0.3mm for speed; if you have more time, try taking the layers down for a better resolution. **How I Designed This** If you can get your hands on one, get a box Brownie camera - they're fairly cheap on eBay if you know where to look and have a good set of calipers. Measure everything carefully. Custom Section: Non-3D Printing Bits To build the box, take off 4 x 18mm (4/3") for the two layers of MDF to give you the side of the face. I used plywood for the main body as I'll be screwing in camera mounts and it's covered in fake leather, so the surface finish doesn't matter too much.
