Bowl Sander
thingiverse
This is a precision-made bowl sander designed specifically for use with a wooden lathe. The project draws inspiration from a video tutorial available online at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=myBwALrpYeM&t=6s. The sander features a robust design that accommodates an M8 bolt, allowing users to securely fasten Abec 3 or Abec 5 bearings in place. While both types of bearings fit snugly, the Abec 5's require more force to install due to their tighter fit, whereas the Abec 3's press in effortlessly; personal preference dictates a preference for the Abec 3. Craftsmanship shines in the carefully crafted wooden handle that adds an element of elegance to the overall design. A photograph showcasing the actual sander has been attached, revealing its sleek, flat face – a deliberate departure from an earlier version featuring ridges on the sander's surface area. That initial iteration aimed to maximize gluing potential, but the current design has proven more effective in its simplicity.
