Here's a Central Channel Speaker modelled after the Bowers and Wilkins - CM Centre S2 in Satin White. This was made using 3ds Max 2008 and V-ray 2.0, with everything to scale as you'd find it in real life. Millimeters are used here. Inside this scene, you'll see the use of Gamma 2.2, along with some pretty cool textures for the materials that were all set up with V-Ray. Lights and cameras weren't included, though - that was a conscious decision on my part to focus solely on what matters most: creating something true to form. This entire thing is built out of 19 different objects which you can see scattered across this model. We're looking at nearly 19000 quads and more than 1600 triangles right here. Don't even get me started on the polygons – when smoothed, we're talking about just shy of 200 polygons total; and when turned up a notch to where things start really getting intense (i.e., turbo smoothed twice over) you'll be hard pressed not find nearly 80000 unique polygonal units in your count. In regards to how this entire scene is handled: I opted to create these images right within the confines of our Max and VR software packages – giving everyone an opportunity get that authentic feel of the product, straight from start to finish! This means we are dealing with almost a full twenty-six hundred sixty- eight point oh two-zero forty-eight-by two thousand forty-eight plus some various additional smaller formats. I know it sounds complex but trust me: in simple terms there's more to this little package than you might first guess – as for number of materials used - just a handful were employed – though no surprise here the number is high, topping sixty-two and that being an accurate account, no more & no less!
