Bowden Y Adapter
thingiverse
This adapter is designed for use with dual-extruder/single-heater color switching printers. This feature is supported in Cura 4.5 and above versions. The finished print requires three M6 pass-through push-connect fittings. Installation Instructions: Do not install the bowden connectors yet. Cut two lengths of bowden tubing at a 75.2-degree angle using the included cutting guide (Y_Cutter.stl). Push one piece of cut tubing fully into one fork of the Y adapter, with the end resting against the internal corner of the Y. Insert a razor blade into the slot of the Y adapter and use it to cut away a small piece of the side of the tubing. Remove both the tubing and the cut piece from the adapter, remembering which fork it was inserted in. Do the same for the other piece of cut tubing using the other fork of the Y adapter. Check the fitting of the cut pieces of tubing by inserting them into their respective forks of the Y, ensuring they meet up perfectly inside the adapter. The seam should be invisible or nearly so. Insert a test bowden tube in the bottom of the Y and manually insert some filament into each fork to ensure it passes through with little difficulty. Install both bowden connectors on the forks of the Y, re-insert the tubing and check that everything aligns perfectly again. Test once more. Install a bowden connector on the bottom of the Y, install tubing. It may be helpful to back off the connector by half a turn, insert the tubing, then fully tighten it. Test again. If all tests succeed to your satisfaction, you can now install the adapter in your dual color system.
